A whole new respect

Lauch went right on schedule and the site was live at noon.

Then the real fun began.

Things that you just don’t know about until you go live.

Little things that can be a real (you know what) but have to be dealt with. The first thing we new about was a problem with the johnson box at the bottom of the page.

It looked great in I.E. but in Firefox it looked like a Van Gogh. Text superimposed on top (of all places) the order link.

Product launch or h e l l night for fraternity pledges - I think there were some commonalities.

The first 4 hours of the launch were filled with technical blips and hiccups but finally, and with the help of several people, things began to settle down.

I was incredibly tired and running on pure adrenalin.

Finally about 7:30 tonight I decided It was time for a nap. I wanted to take about an hour (it was as much sleep as I’d had in the past 36 hours) but it turned into three.

I’m posting this and then it’s back to work.

I do want to take this opportunity to thank several people who have been extraordinarily helpful and without whom there is no way I could have pulled this off.

I wonder

Lauch is less than 24 hours away now and I’m beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel - or is it the beginning of yet another tunnel?

As noon tomorrow rapidly approaches I’m now wondering what kind of special bonus packages are being put together by the jv partners.

With two new testimonials coming in yesterday, one from IM legend Willie Crawford and the other from Ken Reno the social proof of The List Formula is solid.

And with the last minute bonus I’ve added I’m absolutely positive the launch will be a success.

I’ll likely be a little more active on the blog today but still ironing out some other details of the launch.

Time sure flies

I’ve been up since 8:45 this morning (I went to bed at 5:30) and it seems like the day just breezed by without even an hello.

Between telephone conversations and emails I’ve managed to get quite a bit accomplished today - even though it doesn’t really seem like it.

A few new JV partners have come on board and a few more are in a quasi-limbo if you will.

I been so incredibly busy (all important) that I’ve not even sent a mailing today — it was the third day of the sample promo — and I haven’t check my stats (I’m going to do that right now)….

L O N G P A U S E

I’m back…

A little over 72 hours into the promo using the List Formula strategy and nothing sent out today by me I’ve added 86 buyers and generated $2342.81 in profit.

I’ll take it.

Another quick post tonight — I’ve got an extraordinarily busy day tomorrow and I’ve really got to get some rest.

Quick update

48 hours into my current promo using the List Formula strategy I’ve added 94 new buyers and made $2200.44 in profit.

I hope to see stats even better than that soon — but not just from me — I really want it to be from the people who join.

What a busy day

Wow… It’s now 1 am and I’m just getting back to posting on the blog.

This whole pre-launch routine is new ground for me and I’m finding out what really goes into something like this. It’s certainly given me a whole new appreciation for those marketers who have done these in the past.

I wanted to quickly take the time just to update you on the status of my current promo using the “List Formula” strategy.

As of hour 24 there were 73 new buyers added on my list and a total profit of $1691.45

Something of interest — I was on a teleconference tonight with John Hoslter and Gina Graves and learned why my current promo has less than average conversion rates (it’s only at 9% whereas previous promos were averaging 17% at this stage).

To put it in a nutshell… the headline has no quotes and there are no bullet points throughout the letter.

I’m heading over right now to make changes and I’ll post the results later today.

Hour 9 update

Hour 6 update

Just a quick update on the current promotion using “The List Formula” strategy…

Stats:
Total Visitors: 1462
Unique Visitors: 1291
Total Sales: 97
Conversion Rate: 7.5%

Personal Sales: 51
OTO Sales: 12
OTO Conversion Rate: 12.4%

Total Profit: $961.65

Buyers Added to My List: 46

I’ll try to update again in a few hours but alas (?spelling) I must sleep at some point.

And now, this.

You’ve all heard of products where you’re guaranteed “push button” success. While it’s probably true for the creator of the product it may not necessarily be true for others.

It’s kind of like Grandma’s applie pie (thanks Mark H.) - sure, Grandma can give you the recipe, and you can follow it step-by-step, to a “T” - but it still doesn’t come out like Grandma’s.

So what does that have to do with “The List Formula”?

Simple - each and every promotion using the “List Formula” strategy is unique to itself. Yes, there are some commonalities, as with any good promotion (or bad for that matter), but the strategy actually shows you how and why to be “different.”

I’m a student of many successful marketers (some of them actually know it while others I’ve watched from my desk) but there’s one statement that really impacted my thinking and is a big part of the “List Formula” strategy.

What is it?

“Me too” marketing doesn’t work (Mark Hendricks first taught me this)… and the “List Formula” strategy teaches you how to create your own unique selling point - from the ground up.

7 days to launch

It’s finally happening…

… after nearly 6 months of work, testing, collecting data and getting a few beta testers to have a go at it “The List Formula” is just about ready to launch.

It’s been a very satisfying 6 months — I’ve been fortunate enough to go to numerous live events and meet some truly wonderful people — some truly generous people and now it’s time to pay it back to the internet marketing community.

I’ve tried several things over the years (done a lot of chasing and never catching) but this time it’s different.

Using the List Formula strategy I’ve been able to leave both my jobs and have been able to increase my January 2006 profits by over 12x - I’m not bragging - I’m simply trying to relate the power of this simple strategy.

In fact, I just launched a new “List Formula” style promotion at 5:30 eastern. (I actually did this one a little differently — I started it at $9.95 instead of my usual $5)

In the first 2 1/2 hours I’ve made a total of $675 in profit while adding 34 buyers on my list.

I’ll post some updates as the promotion progresses just to give you an idea of how “The List Formula” works.

I’m finally retiring from my job!

Well — after 6 1/2 years of hard work, a little frustration
and a lot of rewards I’m finally retiring from my job to go
full time on the internet.

It’s really a great feeling to know that this day is finally
coming and I can say that I am really happy (still a bit
nervous - although I’m not sure why).

A lot of the reason why this day is finally coming is
because of one very simple fact — After years of being
afraid of failure I finally started taking action.

For those of you who one day want to leave your
job and become a full time internet marketer the
those words - “TAKE ACTION” - should be close
to your heart (and head) at all times.

Now I have to give credit where credit is due… so a
little story is in order.

Last October I was at Mark Hendricks’ Internet-
Success-System conference in Tampa. it was the
last day of the conference and most everyone had
left the room. Mark and his son Jon were starting
to pack up the audio equipment and Mark and I
were standing in the back of the room talking about
email and about our lists.

He was discussing some of his strategies for email
marketing and I came in with a comment something
like… “I don’t want to send offers to my list more
than once a week because they might unsubscribe.”
Mark just gave me ‘this look’ and said “Louis!” — I
got the picture right then.

At that time I was averaging about $500 a month
and was not promoting on a regular basis. Well by
the time the next ISS conference rolled around
(April 2006) I was averaging $1500 a month and
had added almost 3000 members to list. It was
because of Mark’s encouragement and advice that
I tripled my profits in just a few months… and
because of that I was able to attend some other
live events which have helped to “snowball” those
effects even further.

One such event was Ken McArthur’s JV Alert Live.
The February event was special and I was able to
meet and socialize with several very successful
internet marketer’s. Jane Mark and Phil Bastian,
Joel Christopher, Holly Cotter, David Garfinkel,
Carl Galletti, Willie Crawford just to name a few.

I was able to go to that February event thanks to
Gina Graves - it was Gina and Gina alone that
arranged for me to get there (that’s another story)
but I will always owe a huge debt of gratitude for
Gina for all she’s done for me. — If you EVER get
a chacne to meet her DON’T miss it.

Because of that February event I decided that I
absolutely had to get to Philadelphia for the June
event — WHAT A LIFE CHANGING EVENT!!!!!!!!

I wound up getting one of the “hot seats” and the
end result was that I had the support of virtually
the ENTIRE JV Alert Live family for my upcoming
product launch. (Thanks to Ken McArthur for
putting together such a wonder family of online
marketers)

The June JV Alert Live has also played a big role in
my ability to go full time on the internet.

Right now I’ve tentatively scheduled my product
launch for September 25th and I’ll have a concrete
date in about a week.

I would like to encourage anyone who wants to go
full time on the web to take action - build you list,
promote to your list… and by ALL means — get to
a live event. This is where the ‘magic’ happens and
I’m living proof.
